Grouplove: it’s like love, in a group.

After the Apple advert reminded me of their great existence, i had a relisten to Never Trust A Happy Song a week or so ago and felt like i should tell the rest of the world they are missing out on Grouplove.

Hands down the happiest band you will EVER listen to.

If you haven’t heard of them, they’re essentially American indie rock, created by an amalgamation of artists that met in Crete, including sons of Yes guitarist, Trevor Rabin, and Steve Gadd of Stray and decided to form a band.Only months after this, they released their first self titled EP containing singles Itchin’ On A Photograph & Colours, the latter of which is the happiest song you will ever hear and if it doesn’t put you in a good mood, nothing will….

After that, they released an incredible debut album, Never Trust A Happy Song, released another single in the form of Tongue Tied,  a brilliant song, albeit making us sit through the cringeworthy rap in the middle, got it used in the latest Apple advert and suddenly, everyone loves them, and for good reason.

Both the album and EP are worth listening to and buying as pretty much every song on them both is fantastic. The EP, particularly, includes gem Don’t Say Oh Well, a song that, for reasons past my comprehension, was left off the album but has countless plays on my iPod and should do on yours too.

The album is brilliant from start to finish, the highlight being Lovely Cup, complete with infectious bassline and as expected, uplifting lyrics that just make you want to dance.

£5 on Amazon at the moment, trust me, you will not regret it.

Vocalist/Keyboard player Hannah Hooper also does all the artwork for their singles/albums aswell as stuff for other bands & personal work which is quite frankly brilliant so you should check that out here.

That’s pretty much all I have to say, now i am going to convince my friends to come see them with me next month….
