Two Jackals

A gig listing with comparisons to Joy Division, The Cure & Foals caught my eye today and sent me to escape into the world of Two Jackals.

Upon hearing their name everywhere & never getting round to listening, I instantly assumed they’d be one of those big new groups I was late to catch up on again but it appears they’re not that big at all, and wrongly so.

Described recently as “one of Brighton’s shining hopes for 2013” and after playing a scattering of gigs at The Haunt, Queen Of Hoxton, Field Day and others alike they seem to be causing quite a stir with their rather ace mix of alternative ambience & haunting guitars all over the place – like The XX but actually listenable.

Debut single Arrows (above) has been championed by Huw Stephens & judging by the rest of their minimal tracks, it wont be long before the rest is too.

They’re playing The Haunt on the 5th of January (conveniently bimm open day) so I shall be heading down to see that and you should too.
