H&H// Barriers – Suede

Today (7th Jan) Suede have debuted a new track, ‘Barriers’, their first new material in ten years. It’s the first studio material taken from the reformed outfit’s forthcoming 6th album ‘Bloodsports’, due in March, and has been launched as a free download.

The signature parts from the ’90s catalogue remain untouched within the track; lyrically it captures the classic trashy romanticism of Brett Anderson in fine style and the pulse of crunching guitars are very much still there, however it radiates a new sweeping, epic sound that hints more at stadiums than the dingy backstreet haunts of London.

In recent conversation with NME, Anderson described the forthcoming album as  “ten furious songs that have reclaimed what Suede was always about: drama, melody and noise” and ‘Barriers’ certainly suggests this. The track is avaliable for download on the band’s official website now and the first official single, ‘It Starts And Ends With You’, is due in February.
