Hello, here’s another sporadic post to make up for my poor recent attempts (though there’s a few articles over here I’ve written you might want to have a gander at, one more in the works) to alert the world to about 3 things currently.
1) Drowners have a new single that I’ve been playing on repeat since they unleashed the *free download* and it’s really quite ace so you all should get on that, they also announced with it that their debut album comes out 28/01/14 and you should probably be very excited about that too. Also Skaters have a new single that is more than worth spinning once or twice too, check that here.
2) I am on a synth hype and when not listening to Drowners (song or band), The Mother We Share by Chvrches is top of the list, their album came out last week and is utterly incredible – I’d ignored people talking about how good they were and never listened until they were on Jools, fucking top stuff. And in synth pioneer news, Gary Numan’s new album (out tomorrow) is streaming, presumably only til it’s released tomorrow, and as one commenter put it’s “sonic perfection”, I concur, so get on that too – or better still go and buy it, Love Hurt Bleed is the first single and also fucking killer.
OH AND UPDATE: I SAW PALE SUPPORTING SPECTOR THEY WERE GENIUS ACE CHECK THAT OUT HERE https://soundcloud.com/pale-vv
and 3) As of 00:00 on Wednesday, Suede tour for me begins, despite my still amazingly lack of a Kenwood review – I genuinely will at somepoint I need it written about somewhere for memories sake – it’s the first gig i’ve been to in about 2 years i’m yet to write about, terrible – this blog and this blog alone (mainly because none of the other sites will put up with anymore of my incessant ramblings about bert & the gang) will be premiering reviews of all 3 shows, or rather me spewing at great lengths about how great Suede are 3 times in 3 weeks, aren’t you the lucky ones eh? Teleman are also playing so I might get the chance to talk about them over here aswell, watch out for that.
Oh and on a side note, Trans have hit the world, they’re quite something and their psych-y Red EP is more than worth listening to and purchasing also if you feel like it, there’s some nice videos to go with the songs over at http://www.transrecordings.com/ also, there may well be a proper post by yours truly about that headed yr way via H&H in the meantime.
