RADSOUND // SOTW: I COULD HEAR THE TELEPHONE (3 FLOORS ABOVE ME) – THE WAVE PICTURES

This week’s single comes from Wymeswold’s The Wave Pictures with ‘I Could Hear The Telephone (3 Floors Above Me)‘.

The track, as the latest offering from their forthcoming album ‘Great Big Flamingo Burning Moon’, is a bluesy shot of the trio’s garage rock with wailing guitars and an understated yet thunderous sound. The wry lyrics from frontman Dave Tattersall detail in anecdotal style the events the title suggests whilst bass and drums pound through the track giving way for the pop-tinged riffs and scattering of forthright solos to shine through. Though this single previews the release of the band’s sixth studio album, The Wave Pictures are still producing gems of music that keeps getting better.

‘I Could Hear The Telephone (3 Floors Above Me)’ is out now, with ‘Great Flamingo Burning Moon’ out Monday (16th).
