Crystal Castles have today returned with a new track titled ‘Frail’ from the upcoming fourth album.

Following the departure of frontwoman Alice Glass late last year due to “a multitude of personal and professional reasons”, all has remained silent from the outfit, until producer Ethan Kath posted commemorating the 10th anniversary of the outfit’s track ‘Untrust Us’  on the official Facebook yesterday evening and continuing today with a statement on Glass’ departure (below) alongside the premiere of ‘Frail‘.

Kath said of the release “i wish my former vocalist the best of luck in her future endeavors. i think it can be empowering for her to be in charge of her own project. it should be rewarding for her considering she didn’t appear on Crystal Castles’ best known songs. (she’s not on Untrust Us. Not In Love, Vanished, Crimewave, Vietnam, Magic Spells, Knights, Air War, Leni, Lovers Who Uncover, Violent Youth, Reckless, Year of Silence, Intimate, 1991, Good Time, Violent Dreams etc.). people often gave her credit for my lyrics and that was fine, i didn’t care”.

The track (below) echoes the earlier electronic sounds of the outfit and sees Crystal Castles become Kath’s solo project for the next album, following 2012’s ‘III’.
