RADSOUND // SOTW: PARALLEL TO TOMORROW – HOT VESTRY
This week’s single is courtesy of Macclesfield’s latest outfit Hot Vestry with ‘Parallel To Tomorrow’.
Taken from the outfit’s latest EP, ‘A Scene In Between’, and released via Tim Burgess’ own label, O’Genesis, the track further cements the understated brilliance of the four piece, who have been making a name for themselves of recent. With no pinpoint genre and a range of influences lying somewhere between indie and electronic experimentation – alongside a healthy dose of Mancunian style, ‘Parallel To Tomorrow’ is no exception. The track carries heavy pulsing synths alongside clockwork Joy Division-esque drums whilst – as with most of the EP – permeating bass takes the forefront alongside angst-fueled vocals of frontman Harry Ward, with shimmers of biting guitar cutting through the verses.
Whilst playing shows alongside Johnny Marr, New Order and The Charlatans, alongside others, whilst producing music as impressively unique as this, things only look set to go up for Hot Vestry, and rightly so.
