This week’s single is the latest track from Brighton quartet The Watermelons with ‘Silver’.

Taking a swift turn from previous carefree pop release and single of the week ‘Best Of You’, ‘Silver’ is a darker, sleeker slice of rockier realms. With a dominating sound of huge drums, shimmering 80s pop hooks and storming atmospheric guitars alongside the reluctant vocals of frontmen Toby Bain and David Kelly, the track builds into euphoric choruses displaying the pent up angst within the lyrics – ‘Silver’ is about not being able to communicate how you’re feeling or thinking to someone, but to carry on anyway, because one day they’ll understand.” – and edges in as another gem in the band’s catalogue.

‘Silver’ is out now.
